Second edition, limited to 1,000 copies, of one of the oldest and most beautiful known copies of the tarot known as "Marseille", published in Marseille in 1736 by François Chosson, master carter and engraver of this city then famous for the production of these playing cards. The date of 1672, inscribed on the II of DENIER, has been retained for this second edition, following historical discoveries which support this dating. This would make this tarot the oldest known tarot of Marseille of its category, considered as a reference model in the whole world. Reissue of the only known copy of this tarot, preserved in the Blumenstein Historical Museum in Solothurn, Switzerland, wrapped in a reproduction of the original wrapping sheet of this Marseilles Master Card Maker, and stored in an embossed interlocking box.
